The biggest challenge faced when creating this website was designing the story behind an iconic landmark that already has such a strong brand identity. The Lafayette Hotel’s brand identity is colorful and pattern-filled, similar to the design of the hotel itself, cohesive in its visual choas.
In order to represent the true history behind The Lafayette, the storytelling website had to embody the true identity behind it as well.
The purpose of this website is to tell the story behind the design and the concept of the hotel throughout the years.
The idea behind the website design is that the user scrolls through the iconic eras of the hotel in sequential order, each with immersive visuals, short narratives, and interactive elements.
